Senate Bill Would Establish Formaldehyde Ceilings for Composite Wood Products

A bill introduced by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) would limit the allowable formaldehyde emissions in composite wood panel products to about 0.09 parts per million, the same level as those recently enacted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and the most stringent in the world.


Builders Don’t Tell Buyers About Homes’ Green Features, J.D. Power Study Shows

About 31% of new-home owners recently surveyed said they perceive that their house is environmentally friendly, but a majority of the owners—65%—noted that their builder did not identify the home's green features. Builders who neglect to point out environmentally friendly home features are missing out on an important opportunity, J.D. Power officials say.
