The lightweight prototype called MaqCrete is made with industrial waste and plant fibers mixed with Portland cement for an R-value of 23. A new survey of the nation’s architects shows increasing demand for energy-saving products, with 70% of respondents seeing requests for green upgrades such as additional insulation. The federal government has released updated guidance for fixing homes with tainted drywall that damaged new homes' electrical equipment, corroded pipes, created foul smells, and led to residents' health problems.
